The Year 7 rugby side were in action on Friday night at Hurstpierpoint College, a fixture which is long established between the schools. The team performed superbly - the first ever game for all but one of our players, tackling bravely, being strong with the ball in hand and rucking well at the breakdown. It really was a great performance and they managed to score their first ever try when Frankie broke through in a strong drive and got over the line.
Hurstpierpoint were as strong as ever and performed brilliantly throughout the fixture, moving the ball well into space and creating a number of well worked tries to secure their victory. A really good lesson for Hove Park's developing players and certainly something to aspire to in the future.
We would like to thank Ben Dewey and Hurstpierpoint College once again for hosting the fixture, the spirit in which it was played and their hospitality with the post match tea after the game. It is a fixture remembered fondly by all who play there and we look forward to next week's fixture between the sides with the Year 8 team.
