U14 girls football team are worthy winners

The Hove Park U14 girls football team played Dorothy Stringer this week in a great battle for the top spot! With only a few games left, and neither team having lost a match, we knew whatever happened it would be a close contest!

It was an exciting game to watch from the start. Attacks ran from end to end and some solid defending, by both teams, kept the score line level until the 20th minute when Bella S finished a well worked Hove Park attack. However, Dorothy Stringer didn’t let their heads dip and were soon level at 1-1. Some excellent one touch passing between the Hove Park midfield was the only thing that split the teams and Hove Park went into the break 2-1 up.

We knew that Dorothy Stringer were going to come out and fight and soon found the equaliser early in the second half. 2-2.

Hove Park had to up their game if they were going to win this contest and they did. The girls battled hard, worked as a team and came away worthy winners, finally winning the game 4-2.

Well done to the whole team Siena S, Gemma T, Bonnie I, Jess C, Flo T, Bella M-S, Stella L, Tabby B, Molly A and debutant Laura. Goals form Bella (2), Stella and Flo. Women of the Match Siena S and Laura for outstanding Goal keeping and defending. Without them the game could have been very different.
