This week students had lots of fun investigating marshmallow catapults. Students learnt about Newton’s law of conservation of energy and discussed the energy transfers involved in a catapult. They then worked in small teams to build and test their catapults. They were scored on accuracy, power and distance and the winners were team ‘Unicorn Scientists’.
The session finished with some static snow falling with the help of the Van De Graaff generator.
Well done to all involved.
