Report by Joe law (Captain)
We'd been waiting a long time for this and made the long journey down to Plymouth the day before so we could be prepared for the big game ahead of us.
We got off the mini bus with our heads switched on and focused on the game as we had prepared by getting a good nights sleep beforehand. We started the game with a quick tempo and Zaid scoring our first goal by tapping it with force passed the keeper. About 10 minuets later we won a corner, with Callum whipping it into the box and Haydon using his head to power it into the back of the net, which made it 2-0 to us. Ivybrigde started to apply the pressure but could not get pass Jacob (who made some spectacular saves) but Matt managed to win a freekick around the area, with Haydon stepping up to take this... He put it over the wall and making the ball dip into the top right corner with great placement. This led us up to half half-time with a 3-0 lead.
Starting half-time we knew they were going to come out stronger and with a lot of determination to turn this game around. They then scored a goal lifting their head but we were more determined with Haydon winning a penalty and taking it while the pressure mounted and the crowd trying to put him off but that didn't get to his head as he slotted it bottom corner. He celebrated with a shhhhh to the crowd, proving them wrong. They were starting to be a threat as they attacked our goal and they also won a penalty and just scored as Jacob dived the right way, which took the score to 4-2.
With 10 minutes to go Haydon scored slotting it in the back of the net, again with a shhhhh celebration but the ref pulled him aside and booked Haydon. They then won another free kick by the halfway line and scored with a very powerful shot. The ref blows his whistle and we all celebrate together. We are all very excited to play in the final, which is our third final we have reached this year. A large thank you to Martin and the Travelodge staff for having us and providing quality accommodation for us to sleep in.
