Hove Park took a record breaking 74 athletes to this years Brighton Schools Cross Country Championships at Waterhall, on Thursday 4th January 2018.
It was a typical cross country day, cold, windy and extremely wet and muddy. Perfect conditions some might say.
Hove Park had representatives in all age groups. There were some high flying finishes from some very talented Hove Park athletes. There were also many athletes who really had to dig deep on a very hilly and challenging course, but all managed to give it their all and finish as best they could.
The levels of commitment from all the athletes was fantastic. Many of the Hove Park team will now be put forward to the next cross country championships.
In recent years Hove Park have had high participation numbers at this event but this years team broke the record. It took Mr Mack & Miss Satterly over 50 miles worth of mini bus shuttle runs to bring this huge team to Waterhall and then to return them back to school. It really was a team effort. Many thanks to all the parents and carers that came out to support the team.
Well done to all our athletes for taking on such a gruelling course in very tough conditions.
